MS says Vista will still be on schedule
After Microsoft released their Beta 2 of Windows Vista this past week many critics said the company still has a long way to go before a final product release. On the other hand Bill Gates called the release “a significant milestone.†Additionally, Symantec has recently filed a lawsuit against MS for violating the terms of a licensing agreement with Veritas (which Symantec had acquired in 2005). The suit, filed in federal court in Seattle, charges that Microsoft improperly used Veritas technology in Vista and other software. It seeks an injunction to prevent Microsoft from selling Vista until the technology is removed.
Regardless the company has once again stated that they are still on time to release the new operating system on time, no sorry we meant 6 months after their planned date, oh wait…about a year after the planned launch, but still the same date, in January 2007.
