Microsoft flooded with complaints after IE 8 release

Internet Explorer 8 was released at noon on Thursday and users have already flooded the pages of Microsoft’s feedback pages with complaints.  It hasn’t done too hot with Pwn2Own and got hacked easily.  Although many problems were supposed to be resolved during the beta testing phase, it still seems that there are multiple issues affecting the web browser.

Top complaints include problems printing from websites, search function malfunctions, and misplaced images. Many users have said that their search bar doesn’t work and have appeared blank.  Additionally, a bug has appeared to cause an issue with dragging photos in IE onto Facebook pages.  Boot up times have also been reported as slow as well as taking up an extra 4GB of hard drive storage space.

Microsoft has contended that they have fixed the most significant issues in beta based on priority by community voting.  Upgrades to IE 8 include several bars that you can use to manage the sites that you navigate on the web.  A favorites bar, tab bar, and address bar have all been added with the upgrade.  You can manually download IE 8 from Microsoft’s download page.

I downloaded Internet Explorer 8 several days ago.  Sadly, it is MUCH slower and more cumbersome to navigate.  Boot up time is endlessly slow as well as accessing information from any of the search engines.  Most of the time the msn bar is inoperable.  My subscripton paid antivirus software is working very hard as it detects many attempts to attack or infect my computer.  I have huge concerns about the safety of my hard drive with this upgrade . . the list is endless . . what a huge disappointment!!

I wanted to add that my computer is a year old. I am using Windows Vista Home Premium and added a memory upgrade several months ago.  The Internet Explorer 8 has bogged down my computer so much that it is worse than the original system, even without the added memory upgrade.

I downloaded IE8 yesterday and tried it today.  The first problem I found was that my homepage-MSN.com- would only come up in Spanish. No matter how I typed in the address it immediately changed to latinomsn.com. When I tried to purchase an item on-line and clicked on check-out an error message appeared that AI Roboform would not allow the action and at the same time the computer locked up. I can’t find anything on my computer with the name Roboform.  I finally did a system restore to the time just before downloading IE8 and now everything works normally.  I’m back at IE7.  Firefox works even better.

Never trust Microsoft again they are using the peoples trust to take advantage of them Microsoft took advantage of the trust. Time for Microsoft to go down lest everybody together start using Opera to teach the Microsoft a big lesson.

Downloaded IE 8 this morning and the new version finally convinced me to start using Mozilla Firefox instead. I work a lot with html documents and have to make changes in the “source” of my documents. It used to come up very simple and easy to use, but now when opening the source it gives a long and complicated version in which you cannot change anything. Instead you have to select everything, than copy it into another empty file and give it its name back. Also the “making a picture blue” with the left side of the mouse and saving a image does not work anymore, so for me. That msn bar was horrible, why do they want to impose all that extra stuff that I never use on you??? So…goodbye IE and hello Mozilla.

I am tired of these ads popping up while I am doing searches or logging onto my favorites pages.  the ads are a huge interuption of my computer experience.  I want to go back to the first versions of explorer before all of this B.S. came into play!
