Normally, when you look for something like the name of a trusted mechanic or need to borrow something, you bug your friends.  FriendlyFavor is a tool for organizing your favors.  You can ask for something, offer something, and keep track of your favors in an e-mail like dashboard.  Now you could probably do the same thing in your e-mail with labels or filters and things.  However, this organizes your favors in one place.

When you ask for stuff, you tell everyone how you plan to repay the favor.  There are several options like Good Karma, cash, and an open field where you can write anything.  You can import your AOL, GMail, Outlook, Plaxo, or Yahoo! contacts so you can start sending your favor requests.  Who’s behind this venture?  FriendlyFavor has ties to Amazon, Google, and Microsoft. 

I’m not sure I truly understand what makes this any more than a specialized e-mail service.  Originally, I thought FriendlyFavor would allow you to reach out to a larger group than your contact list.  But that’s not the case.  Why not spread the karma between strangers?  This kind of service may make more sense as a Facebook app.
