Listen to your shuffle, via bones?
Japan’s Thanko launched an interesting product today. The VONIA headband, made for the iPod shuffle and other small Mp3 players, is a headband with a twist. VONIA doesn’t play your music via headphones, it plays it via bone conduction. The headband sends pulses through your skull which result in you being able to listen to your music while still having the ability to hear what’s going on in the world around you. A small bonus is that the product can be used while swimming for all you swimmers out there, a cover can be applied if you’re using the right player.
The product is a great idea in my opinion, I can’t even count the amount of times I have run into someone while going on my jog (yes, I am a klutz). At least this product will allow me to hear them yelling right before I hit them.
The VONIA should be available from the online retailer by the end of March for $84. Exports to the US haven’t been confirmed.
