Full FeedLG’s take on an iPhone killer: LG LH2300 Touch Web phone
Although it might be a bit late, LG believes it’s better than never, and offers a touch screen equipped web browsing-centric phone called the LG LH2300 Touch Web phone for the Korea market. The name actually says it all. “Touch,” as in it has a 3-inch, 800 x 480 pixel, 26 million color, touch sensitive display that’s produced by Sharp. “Web,” as in it should offer unparalleled web browsing experience on a handheld, as if that was unheard of before. And “phone,” as in it’s a regular mobile phone that you can use to send short text messages and make choppy voice calls. It’s slated for an April 2008 release date and will cost around $600 USD. But again, like I said in the beginning of this post, this will only be available in Korea. For now, at least.
The LG LH2300 runs on a unique, drag-and-drop user interface that uses icons in almost every aspect of operation. For example, you can arrange icons of your favorite contacts on the desktop (standby screen) of your phone and when you want to send any one of them a message, you simply type up your message and drag it on top of the intended recipient. And then to make calls, you simply drag the icon of the contact you wish to call on top of the call button and you’ll be good to go. These are very interesting features but at this point I’m not sure how well these would really work in real life.
In addition to the refreshingly new UI of the LG Touch Web phone, it also features a 3-megapixel camera with auto focus lens, image stabilization and face tracking technology. It can connect with other devices via Bluetooth, has a DMB tuner for mobile TV, and supports additional microSD card through its card slot.
Unfortunately, the LG LH2300 Touch Web phone will only be available in the Korea market for now, but who knows? Maybe if it turns out quite successful there, optimized GSM versions will be hitting our shores soon after. Or maybe you can ask a friend in Korea, if you have one, to import a Touch Web phone just like how people did it with the iPhone back then.

actually, i have a bluish black Lg Lh2300, it’s better than any phone i ever had, and it’s better than what the paper and reviews say about it.
