LG unveils the GW620, otherwise known as their first Android smartphone
LG has officially unveiled their first entry into the world of Android with the GW620 smartphone. Unfortunately while this phone has been officially announced complete with a press release and images, there are still more than a few details that were not mentioned.
Anyway, what we can tell you so far, other than based on the images alone, the GW620 looks to be a nice handset is that it has a 3-inch touchscreen display and a full slide out QWERTY keyboard. Like I mentioned, pretty light on features considering this was an official announcement.
In terms of availability, the LG GW620 is expected to become available sometime in Q4 2009 and similar to the feature list the pricing was also left off the release announcement.
Other details that we can tell you, based on previous rumors suggest that the GW620 will also feature a 5-megapixel camera as well as running a standard Android setup, in other words we are not going to be seeing any fancy overlay such as Sense from HTC or MOTOBLUR from Motorola.
Finally, as far as where the GW620 will be available, at this time it was noted as heading only to “select European markets.”

LG Etna is so cool! But I hope phone companies can invent a phone that has the ability to translate English to foreign languages.
on September 14, 2009 at 09:56 AM - LINKI am satisfied with LG’s first Android smartphone. The design is very good, features are very satisfying. I like the qwerty keyboard. 5 mp camera is not bad. Image quality is satisfying. Performance-wise, its good. To have complete information on other models and brands refer http://www.techsoft.org/
