LG makes the KC780 portrait phone official

Next in the line of LG 8MP-touting mobile phones is the just announced LG-KC780 slider phone. According to LG, this camera phone, or rather portrait phone, has special features that make it ideal for shooting portraits. Measuring a mere 13.9 mm thick, this portrait phone comes with a Schneider-Kreuznach certified lens, which is actually common in most Kodak digital cameras.
Complementing this lens is the portrait phone’s face detection and smile detection technology, which automatically searches for your subjects’ faces and angle of their mouths to focus on their best angle. These features help make for high quality portrait photos.
In addition, the LG-KC780’s camera also has easy-to-shoot modes highlighted by automatic shutter-triggering when the camera detects that your subjects are smiling. Even better is the “Beauty Mode,” which enables you to remove spots and imperfections on your subjects’ faces.
With these features, LG is assuring users that their subjects’ faces will always appear bright and clear in their photos. Other features of the LG-KC780 include; high ISO sensitivity of up to 1600, SmartLight that automatically fixes too bright pictures, and D1 video recording feature with DVD-resolution.
Lest we forget, the LG-KC780 is still a mobile phone and not really a digital camera. As such, it features some nifty mobile phone functionality, including Smart Bluetooth, which also enables using the phone as a web camera. In fact, it is even better than ordinary USB web cameras since it works via Bluetooth connectivity. So, you can untether your webcam from your computer as long as you stay within Bluetooth range. It also has a 2.4-inch QVGA TFT LCD, FM Radio, and a 140MB internal memory.
The LG-KC780 will be available in Europe sometime in November before it gets shipped to other countries, including some countries in Asia. Pricing information has not yet been announced.

I like this review. Still, is there are any photos and video clips taken by KC780?
on May 15, 2009 at 04:50 PM - LINKI bought the LG KC780 and the phone is very good. But I have problem with music files in AAC format. If I upload them to the memory card, the phone very often crashes. Does anybody have similar experience?
