LG makes new touchscreen phone official

by JG Mason on Mar 11, 2008 at 08:08 PM

LG Glimmer
First, the Glimmer was leaked via magazine ad, now comes the official word from LG.  Yet, there is still no confirmation when we’ll actually see it from Alltell.  This could be a very nice little phone: it has touch screen sex appeal and the looks of a simple user interface. This little phone is pretty hot.

It’s 2.8 inch screen is not only touchable but equipped with haptic feedback.  You can choose to use the slider keypad or the onscreen version.  The UI looks vaguely familiar but welcomely simple all the same.

The unwired view is putting forth speculation that we’ll see a GSM version at CTIA.  Here are the current specs from LG:

  • 1900/800 MHz dual band CDMA connectivity, High Speed EVDO data
  • 2.8″ 262K color, 240×400 px touchscreen display
  • 2 megapixel camera
  • 128MB of internal memory
  • microSD memory card slot
  • Bluetooth 1.2, USB connectivity
  • 800 mAh battery for 3.5 hrs talk and 7 days standby time
  • Dimensions: 4″x2.05″x0.59″
  • Weight: 4.48 oz
