HD DVD gets an affordable player at under $200, with a special one-day sale for under $100 and it was just a matter of time before we saw some Blu-ray news turn up. Except this was not the announcement I was expecting; Kmart has decided to stop selling Blu-ray due to “high cost”.

Kmart is claiming that due to the high cost of the Blu-ray players they are not a good value to their customers. This announcement was made by the HD DVD Promotions Group which would lead one to think that would have had some effect on Kmart’s decision to stop selling Blu-ray.
