JVC re-enters GPS arena

JVC KV-PX701

Previously, it looked like JVC left the GPS department and just created other electronics. However, today, it seems that JVC is picking up in the GPS arena where they left off, by introducing 2 new GPS units.

These 2 new GPS models are called the KV-PX701 and the KV-PX501. The KV-PX701 is probably better as it features a 4.3-inch touch screen, runs on a 400Mhz processor, maps cover all of Europe, comes with a standard RDS-TMC receiver, and uses a GPS SiRF Star III GPS receiver. Also, the maps are supplied by Navteq.

On the other hand, the KV-PX501 sports a 3.5-inch touch screen, Media Tec’s GPS receiver, and RDS-TMC receiver in the car mount rather than the body.

Both of these GPS units are set to sell in Europe later this month. The KV-PX701 selling for 400 Euros and the KV-PX501 selling for 350 Euros.
