Is that a TV tuner in your pocket…?

by PJ Hruschak on Oct 13, 2006 at 03:27 AM

minitv_usb.jpgADS Technologies, makers of USB and firewire TV gadgets, has released a mini TV tuner, obviously named the PnP MiniTV USB Tuner (SRP $79.99). The device, which fits into a USB port and works with Windows XP, allows you to watch TV in real time or schedule a show recording for later viewing.

It comes with a small antenna and can be connected to a standard TV antenna or analog cable. It also includes digital home theater software that lets you record shows, rewind, fast-forward, pause live shows and continue without interruption and view photos. Of course when you are done, you can also burn your shows to CD or DVD (That certainly won’t upset any TV or movie companies). The device also ships with a USB 2.0 Extension Cable, an antenna connector MCX to F-connector CD with drivers and Media TV PVR software and the ever useful user’s manual.

Software features include:

  • Record your favorite TV shows and burn to DVD
  • Create custom audio playlists
  • Rip audio CDs and burn your own compilations
  • Share custom slide shows on disc, complete with audio, edit and enhance images with simple controls.
