iPhone Serial Killers: attack of the clones?
Who’s trying to upstage the iPhone now? Um, everyone… Last night, I got to witness first hand from out of nowhere (almost) comes Garmin with the nuvifone (hey, maybe the third time is the charm?) and I’ve got to give them credit, it is pretty slick. So if phone industry noob, if you will, Garmin can make a serious stab at Job’s baby, are there more to follow?
I believe the industry is finally going to team up on the iPhone at this years shows like high school jocks around the dorky kid in high-waters. Today we get the rumor of Dell getting some Android fun going that might drop next month. Call me on my Dellphone? It seems everyone is coming up with a fun combatant phone, you know, except the big guys. But that is going to change.
Maybe it will be Microsoft dropping a touchscreen version of Windows Mobile at CeBit or 3G in Barcelona. Maybe some big manufactures will roll out new touchscreen phones already running it. Don’t misunderstand me, I’ve got no advanced tips from inside the industry. But look around, if veritable rookies can impress us with what they’ve been cooking for the past year, how about the big guns?
This image, by the way, is purely concept planned to recharge in two minutes. Vaporware rules.
This is going to be a great year for phones, you can quote me on that. Will we see a phone that upstages the iPhone soon? What is your take?

This is a good development because the competition will force apple to continue to refine the iphone and giving customers more value for money.
