iPhone SDK already in wild?  Lucky few get early release

by JG Mason on Nov 27, 2007 at 04:05 PM

Electronista is reporting that select developers have already begun receiving the promised iPhone/touch SDK or software developers kit.  The SDK was slated for a February release.  Electronista is protecting the source and no names or release dates are revealed.

Described as a rough version of the SDK, the result is native programs that have farther reaching effects as compared to a web base program.

“Exact details of what the kit allows are unknown, though it is confirmed that it produces native programs and somewhat resembles Google’s in that it mediates between the programmer and the iPhone.”

It was revealed that the secret developers have only had the rough SDK for two weeks.
