Insteon's IRLinc

New inventions have allowed entertainment lovers to enjoy and control the way that they watch programs in ways never before imagined.  SmartLabs has now introduced the IRLinc Transmitter, an INSTEON to IR converter, a device with an easy plug in design that allows you to remotely control your home theater.

One of the major complaints of electronics owners is that their home theater requires numerous remotes in order to operate.  The IRLinc Transmitter eliminates extra accessories by controlling multiple IR and INSTEON devices at once.

Using a controller such as KeypadLinc or RemoteLinc, you can set up buttons, including play, stop and volume functions, to control your home music or theater system.  The way that it works is that the user will have to teach the device the codes that are utilized by their other remote controls.  Once setup is done, you can control various IR products as a part of a home automation system.  The product will work to control sound systems, home theaters and even electronic drapes.

The IRLinc Transmitter has a planned release date of March 16, 2009 and online stores like Smarthome.com are already accepting pre-orders.  The current retail price is $90.
