You note: “The screens I use the most are screens 2 and 3. It would be great to be able to set one of those screens as the default snap back screen.“
Well, I always think that the first screen (or panel) must be the most important one, so why not just drag your top apps on this screen? That will do the job.
Weird to me that your top screen is 2 or 3…
Anyway, just behavior…
thanks
on November 21, 2008 at 11:38 AM - LINKThe reason I use screens 2 and 3 the most is because I like to keep my iPhone screens organized. The first screen for me is strictly for official Apple apps. The second screen is for apps that I use the most often, and screen 3 is for games the games that I currently like the most. I keep screens 4, 5 and 6 organized along similar lines as well but these apps aren’t used as much by me.
I initially thought of your solution, but moving icons on the iPhone is quite a painful process. Everything gets disorganized very quickly with icons spilling from one page to the next. Not to mention it takes a lot of time to move icons around. I’ve always had a problem with the limited ways in which you can sort your icons on the Home screens.
I wish that Apple would include some auto sorting options for the Home screen, like sort apps by type (games, automotive, etc. It could use the categories right from the App Store), date released, date installed, most used, alphabetical, etc. Or they could include a way to sort Home icons through iTunes on the desktop with a keyboard and mouse. Also, folders would not be a terrible idea.
In my opinion, it just takes too long to manually move all of the icons around with your finger on the iPhone. Automation, or the ability to edit with a desktop computer are a necessity for me.
on November 21, 2008 at 11:54 AM - LINKI am glad that apple is continuing to update the firmware, but can they get some priorities straight? Like better integration with exchange calendar invites and some copy paste. I would love to replace my blackberry with an IPhone at work, but these basics need to be provided. Sure Street view is nice, but all its going to do is help me find the soup line if I lose my job because I missed a calendar invite.
