HTC’s mighty Mogul

by JG Mason on Jun 18, 2007 at 10:21 PM

Check out this hands on with HTC’s new Mogul (available now from Sprint, $399 with 2 year contract).  The Mogul is the next generation PPC 6700 but still lacks EVDO Revision A.  There is hope of an update to remedy this coming shortly.

Likes: lights for caps or function lock, 2MP camera with flash.  Scroll wheel works well, oddly in landscape mode, typing seems easy.  WM6, Micro SD and removal of antenna bulge.  It is 1/3rd of an inch thinner than it’s predessor.

Dislike: the keyboard doesn’t have much feedback, a lot of buttons over the phone, the joystick is flimsy.

The phone has a 2.7 QVGA LCD screen, WiFi, is upgradeable to Rev. A, and is said to have a 20% longer battery life.

End result: upgrade now if you have the 6700, the revision update will come and this version of EVDO is still pretty fast on this new phone.
