HP has listed a what seems to be budget business laptop called the HP 550 on its product site. We say budget because the new HP laptop features some not so expensive Core 2 Duos and Celerons as configurations for its processor. Aside from these, the HP 550 will also have an Intel GMA X3100 graphics, up to 4GB of RAM, up to 250GB of hard drive storage, a choice between a combo optical drive or DVD burner, and a 15.4-inch diagonal WXGA Brightview display with up to 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.
In addition, the HP 550 also features an 802.11 Wi-Fi, an Ethernet LAN, a built-in 56K modem, optional Bluetooth, various slots and ports including ExpressCard, three USB, a mic-in, RJ-11/RJ-45 and external VGA monitor. Having a 15.4-inch screen doesn’t come light though as the HP 550 is a bit on the heavy side, weighing 5.49 pounds.
The HP 550 runs on Windows Vista and shall be available soon. Pricing information is yet to be announced by HP though.
