HP to Integrate Santa Rosa Chips into Laptops

Right after Sony introducedtheir new laptops, HP has done the same for their subsidiary line, Compaq. They have announced two models that will integrate Intel’s new Santa Rosa processor: the 6510b,and the 6710b. The 6510b has a 14.1 inch WXGA screen, while the 6710b will use a 15.4 inch WXGA or WSXGA+ display.

As with most PC laptops, there are many configurable options. As for the processors, the speeds will range from 1.8 to 2.4 gigahertz. WWAN can also be integrated into either of the models. For operating systems,  HP allows a wide array of choices, from Vista Business to SuSe Linux.

There is no set price or release date yet.
