Heads up: Nokia enters the GPS arena

Nokia introduces today a stand alone GPS unit, though to be fair they call it a complete in-car solution.  Their solution consists of a GPS unit that can act as a media player/cell phone go-between -showing who is calling on the 4.3 inch screen and an easier way to make in-car calls- via bluetooth.

One cool feature is the units ability to call or save to your phones contacts POI along your route.  That can be handy after you leave the unit in the car and are roaming about a city.

The GPS part does what you’d expect a GPS unit to do these days: audible turn by turn directions.  It adds in a split screen so you can get additional information as well as traffic alerts.  Nifty.

The unit can also play music through an FM transmitter and play videos as well.

Coming Q4 2007 for about $410 or 300 Euros.
