HD-DVD/Blu-ray multi drive now available

blu-ray.jpgHewlett-Packard have entered the market with a dual-format Blu-ray/HD DVD drive, perfect for those in a similar position as me not wanting to up-take a favorable format.

The drive will not only be able to read both Blu-ray and HD-DVD discs, be able to write to both single- and double-layer Blu-ray discs at 2x.

I feel this is the way to go for most companies until we get a definite answer on who will win the “format war”. Expect to see prices steadily fall on this (and similar) products over the next few months as production ramps up.

Pricing starts at a hefty $929.99.
