There’s a new phone number now, called GOOG-411. It has just been released to the general public after graduating for Google Labs. It was debuted in April and is now finally ready for everyone to enjoy, and below, I will tell you how it works.

Basically, you begin by picking up a phone, cell or landline - doesn’t matter, and you call 1-800-GOOG-411. Then you will hear someone ask for your location and then you’re in. You can then search for a business and you will be connected. Let’s say your looking for pizza, you can search for that by saying the company name and then you will be redirected to it.

It uses special speech-recognition algorithms to recognize what you are saying then it finds the business. There is also a new website dedicated to GOOG-411 along with a special YouTube video.
