Rumor: Gmail’s upcoming new features

by JG Mason on Apr 30, 2007 at 09:31 PM

Gmail logoA translator working on Google’s Gmail program is offering up the new features coming that he has seen/worked on.  They are:

  • My Friends Are Bored - The translator hints that it would be a rouse to get you to IM friends using Gmails Chat functionality.

  • “Presently” integration.  A surprise to no one now, I even reported it a while ago, the slideshow app addition to the Google family will become prominent in placement, along side docs and spreadsheets.

  • Multi-User conversations in Chat.  IM with a mass of folks (most likely so my wife can keep reigns on my social life...)

  • AIM Integration.  Seems Time-Warner and Google are ready to put their brains where they money has already gone.  Now Chat users and AOL users can party.  It’s only been 17 months, but who is counting.

Interestingly, there is no mention of video conferencing capabilities as reported here by Adam.
