Gmail now supports 20MB attachments

by Robert Nelson on May 23, 2007 at 04:09 PM

Gmail LogoGoogle has doubled the limit on attachments sent within Gmail from 10mb to 20mb. In the past Google has always been forgiving if the file was a bit larger than 10mb, I would imagine it will still be the same but have not tested that out. While its nice that Gmail is giving us what most people want, I would not recommend sending a 20mb attachment to many other email accounts as they will not be able to receive them.

At this point it would be nice if they opened up Gdrive and let people share files that way instead of having to send it via email. Simply send a message to the other person letting them know to check the Gdrive, you could even include a direct link.
