Gmail increasing storage for all

Good news for Gmail users, the storage space will be increasing.  The speed of the counter for the “Infinity+” storage plan will be increasing, which means you will have more storage available even quicker. Now you can feel free to save and send even more email without having to worry about storage limits.

In addition to the personal Gmail storage increase, Google Apps for your domain will also see an increase in storage. Standard and Education Edition users will move from the current 2GB limit and start matching the regular Gmail counter, Premier Edition users will also be getting an increase in storage from 10GB to 25GB.

The increased storage is welcome to see, sadly I am not using very much of my overall storage. Currently at 0%, I am using just 29MB of my total 2964MB.

As a user of GMail, I may well speak for many others when I say that increased storage is not needed, but features like Read and Delivery Receipts are needed as is IMAP

  • Hey. That’s just Gmail as always. ;) Gmail is the best e-mail service ever, I think.
