Give the gift of binary digits - hey it beats a sundial

by PJ Hruschak on Dec 9, 2006 at 05:45 PM

binary_watch.jpgBinary watches. Yep, watches that show the current time using LEDs instead of hands or chunky digital numbers.

Made by 1HE 0NE (that’s “The One” for those who can’t quite read nerd-type), the watches range in price from $79 to $199, depending on the style and deals you can find online. On the less expensive side is the Samui Moon with a stainless steel case and band. The outside LEDs illuminate to show the hours (8-4-2-1) and minutes (32-16-8-4-2-1). At the higher end is the Kerala Trance with a stainless steel case and leather band. They offer seven styles in all, including the Ibiza Ride ($159) which looks more like the volume meter on your stereo than a watch face.

These watches make telling time in a dark movie theater even easier and have the added bonus of being all shades of nerdy.
