Everex to delay the Cloudbook again, possibly into March?

by Robert Nelson on Feb 20, 2008 at 01:26 PM

Our calendars are marked and we have been eagerly awaiting the actual release of the Cloudbook, but it looks like we may be waiting even longer. DigiTimes is reporting that we are set to have another delay of the Cloudbook and the release could be pushed back into March. The reason behind the delay is not in relation to the gOS as we previously suspected, but instead due to the weather in China. Yes we are aware just how strange that seems.

“Heavy snowfall in China prior to the Lunar New Year holiday at the beginning of February disrupted power and transportation, causing delay at FIC’s factory in Suzhou, noted the sources. Because of the disruption, shipments of the Everex CloudBook will be delayed with shipments to the retail channel in Taiwan to be pushed back to mid-March noted the sources.”

As of now the Everex website still refers to an availability date of 2/21/08, which is only slightly hopeful. I say slightly because Everex has been pretty bad with the delay announcements. There has not been any advance notice and these delays seem to pop up on the day the notebook is supposed to arrive in stores. Should they come available you can still look forward to a full review from the Gadgetell team.
