Earth Hour: Turn out the lights on Saturday

Technology is a fantastic thing, but sometimes you’ve got to step back and appreciate nature. How about saving some energy for just one hour?
Tomorrow night is Earth Hour. At 8:30 PM on March 28th, 2009 there is an initiative to turn off your lights for just one hour. The organizer’s goal is to get one billion people to turn off their lights.
Here are some of the specifics: You just have to turn off your lights for one hour at 8:30 PM local time. This is being run by the World Wildlife Fund. The Earth Hour site has an Obama-like amount of social networking ideas to get the news to the public. They encourage you to take a photo and upload it to their flickr pool, post tweets and blogs, and make videos during Earth Hour.
Keep something in mind, Earth Hour is just asking you to turn off your lights. Your wireless network can still be up, your television can still be inundating with mind-numbingly awful programming, or whatever else.
What are you waiting for? Set an alarm tonight to remind you about Earth Hour. Blog, tweet, bleat (if you’re a sheep) about this yourself.
