by Adam Berger on May 9, 2006 at 09:41 PM

Playing=Believing Nintendo

So Nintendo dropped a few goodies and lots of titles at today’s press conference. Here is the run down if you want to forgo the live blog:

  • The controller (remote) will have a built in speaker that will play different sounds than your TV (i.e. the bow being pulled back on Zelda and arrow being shot while your TV will play it hitting the enemy)
  • You can run, jump, swing a club, hit a ball, swing a racket, drive a plane, drive a car…all with the remote
  • The nunchuck will have it’s own gyro sensor and combined with the remote will act as a sword and shield in Zelda
  • Games include: Zelda, Metroid Prime 3, Dragon Quest Swords, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Fire Emblem, Sponge Bob Square Pants, Cars, Super Mario Galaxy, SD Gundamn G Breaker, Tony Hawk Downhill Jam, Sudoku Action, Excite Truck, Elebits, Red Steel, Rayman 4, Super Swing Gold Pangya, Sonic, Project H.A.M.M.E.R., Finalfurlong Revolution, Madden, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Twilight Princessand, Madden ‘07.
  • Nintendo DS games include Yoshi Island 2, Starfox DS, Diddy Cong, Final Fantasy III, Tony Hawk , Legend of Zelda for DS, Mario Hoops 3 on 3
  • Almost instant on for the Wii
  • WiiConnect24 service delivers a new surprise or game update, even if users do not play with Wii. Users can connect wirelessly using IEEE 802.11b/g, or with a USB 2.0 LAN adaptor. Wii also can communicate wirelessly with Nintendo DS.

The price and release date were not anymore announced than we knew before: cheaper than the rest and out in Q4 of this year.
