Delicious 2.0 preview
The popular social bookmarking site Delicious (they have dropped the del.icio.us) has just launched version 2.0 to an invite only preview group. As with any trial that people participate in, you have to accept the risks of lost data, and even that the eventual product may look somewhat different than you have got used to, but it would be pretty cool to be involved in this particular test.
According to the founder Joshua Schachter we can expect a complete code rewrite, along with what appears to be a significantly different interface, which looks like it has been broken down into four sections, including:
Bookmarks
Greater flexibility on how much information you view and the popularity of a bookmark can be determined quickly by the width and shade of the blue box around the save count.
Tags
Featuring sorting alphabetically, by date, and popularity with an auto complete feature.
The remaining sections are Home and People, which along with a sidebar that provides an “at a glance” view of a persons top tags, adds up to a pretty impressive overhaul if they deliver all of this when 2.0 is released.
