my personal review :)
Numark cue is a branded copy of the world famous virtual dj software , numark cue(virtual dj) is one of the most respected software titles for djs in the world featuring advanced audio bpm calculators , Fx , and video mixing , cue aslo supports any midi enabled mixer and 99.9% of sound cards on the market , i my self have been using the software (virtual dj) for many years now and highly recommend Cue (vdj) to begginers and pros alike , aslo the built in broadcasting is great for radio stations and those who simply wish to share their mix , aslo to registered users of cue , a mulitude of extra effects , skins , plugins and developer tools can be downloaded at http://www.virtualdj.com
on November 6, 2006 at 05:43 PM - LINKI tried it, I didn’t like it. I would rather use SSL. (Google it)
on November 15, 2006 at 09:15 AM - LINKI agree with Unimpressed. SSL is a good program, but it does have it’s faults.
A much better option imo is Denon’s new hard drive rack mount player… the DN-HD2500.
Some links.

And here is a link to a Q&A about the deck.
http://www.dn-hd2500.com/
Why is it better than a PC based program? How about no need to carry a laptop computer, no need to worry about a laptop crashing and the sound going dead, no need to worry about someone stealing your comp with all you music and the program on it. PC/laptop based programs will go the way of the Beta tape. Why buy a sett of turntables (cd or analog) a laptop and the program, when this deck puts everything into a neat package? Think of it… a rack bag with this HD2500 deck, a 1U mixer, and you are on your way. No inteface boxes, no laptop comuputers, no heavy tuntables. (my back is already saying thank you) ;)
on November 15, 2006 at 09:44 AM - LINKEven though the HD-2500 is not out yet… How can that not be stolen like a Labtop can? How heavy is a Labtop? lol.. Listen I dont even own Serato nor CUE but your arguement is weak! Hey Sil, is that you? (Sil, Denon rep)
on November 15, 2006 at 06:47 PM - LINKThis is obviously not marketed to the Harddrive player market. It looks like its an alternative to traktor, however if its just a Virtual DJ re-release i cant be bothered. Nothing on the market at the moment beats traktor for the Midi-controller market.
Final Scratch & Serato are the way forward though!
on December 21, 2006 at 05:34 PM - LINKPeepz, the argument between a HD-based CDJ, pure software and Rane SSL of St Final Scratch is not quite there. They are all different implementations of the same function; djing. However they all have pros and cons. Pure software crashes but dont require turntables like Rane of Steinberg solutions. HD-based CDJ is one unit, less space but currently not a unified storage unit (seems silly to copy the same collection to both or even half on each, what if you want to double it up?)
Personally being a vinyllista i had disdain for CDJs. Im now converting because im sick of carrying heavy vinyl and all my vinyl is now digitized anyway. The problem with CDs is that I cant really see taking the time to make my collection as accessible as vinyl. I like software because you can ‘flip through’ as much material as you do in your record box. I hate one line LCD screens where you have to a) wait 15 seconds to see the title and artist and b) fast forward to hear the actual track (house almost always starts with a nearly unrecognizable 32 measure beat)
SSL and Final is a great concept, but its NOT a way forward even though I prefer the feel of vinyl. I also live in a place where TTs dont exist in clubs regularly so I’d have to bring it myself. The other fact is when i play out, especially after the warmer, the engineers arent to please I have to replug gear instead of just adding onto the already running mixing desk.
The true evolution of DJing lies beyond the tactical feel IMHO though vinyl will always be in my heart forever

on March 8, 2007 at 08:12 PM - LINKWELL IT SOUNDS TO ME THAT EVERY BODY HAS THEIR OWN OPINIONS - I UNDERSTAND THAT ALL THINGS NEW ARE GONNA HAVE THEIR UPS AND DOWNS - WELL I FOR ONE AM NOT SCARED OF SOMETHING NEW IF IT COULD MAKE LIFE ALOT EASIER - WELL AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED NUMARK CUE IS ALOT BETTER THAN CRRYING AROUND MY 250 CRATES OF VINYL AND MY 98 CASES OF CDS - I HAVE BEEN A DJ FOR 18 YRS AND LOVE TO TRY NEW THINGS - I LOVE THE FACT THAT I CARRY NOTHING BUT A HARD DRIVE AND A LAPTOP PC - 7LBS VERSES HUNDREDS OF POUNDS? - I AM AN OLD MAN AND STILL WITH THIS PROGRAM HAVE NOT HAD IT CRASH YET (NOTICE I SAID YET) NOTICE THAT THE FINAL SCRATCH IS A PC PROGRAM TO THAT HAS CRASHED ON ME SEVERAL TIMES - HERE IS THE WAY THAT I HAVE FIGURED IT WONT CRASH ON YOU - TOSHIBA LAPTOPS AND OR MAC LAPTOPS - COMPONET QUAILTY IS A MUST
on April 26, 2007 at 11:17 AM - LINKSSL Is a better DJ only software but Cue allows you to do So much more with video that right now it’s worth it. If you don’t use video not all the benefits are there. If you do video you can’t beat the price and capability. By Far the best Video mixer I’ve used.

Have used cue and find it to be a very good program. I would like to know what specs your computer should have to run videos without it crashing
on July 11, 2007 at 06:38 PM - LINKCue is the exact same as virtualdj. Numark just branded it and reselling it. Go to virtualdj.com and download the free full version trial. I have used virtualdj and it is just as stable with time coded vinyl as serato. this software does something tractor, serato, etc… cant do. It allows you to manipulate music videos just like the pioneer DVD players do. the only difference is your paying $250 for the program and not $3,000 each for the pioneer players. Yes you can mix mp3’s like serato but can serato or tractor mix music videos? exactly…..
on August 3, 2007 at 04:48 PM - LINKI have tried tractor, deckadance, djdecks and virtual dj. By far virtual dj which is the same as cue has the best beat matching capabilities and 99 percent of the time it stays on beat with out intervention. I think many people that try virtual dj or cue don’t realize that with different skins you have way more capability. Virtual Dj has been around since at least 2001 (I believe thats when I first used it). Serato can only supports 2 decks and needs the serato sound card to work. There are alot of bandwagon serato users that never even tried Virtual DJ/cue. Serato is close to doing video, but it will require rane’s lame ass 2 channel 1400 dollar mixer and an additional 200 dollar plugin. Virtual dj time code works with any asio compatable sound card. Including a nice ecler evo 5.Serato is way over rated. I am always open to trying something new but I am always going back to what is reliable and simple. CUE/VIRTUAL DJ just works.
