We are 7 days away from Amazon’s press conference in New York City. The popular belief is that on February 9th, Amazon will unveil the new version of the Kindle. Gadgetell will be there and we’ll have plenty of pictures.
For a couple of months, images of what looks to be the Kindle 2 have been floating around. If those images are accurate, then this design looks much sleeker. The real question is what other features have been added to the device.
The original Kindle had some oddities in the way it handled RSS and you couldn’t load document files without a strange conversion process. Hopefully, Amazon has listened to all the feedback about the original Kindle and has souped this one up.
I own one of the original Sony Readers and am very interested in the Kindle. A dedicated reader with E-Ink is just easier on the eyes than reading from any LCD at this point. We’ll fill you in with details when we get them.
