For those who are feeling a little bit nostalgic, a new netbook has been unveiled that may attract a few sales just based on the name alone. Commodore, yup the Commodore brand just like the good old C-64, C-128 Amiga and Vic 20 has just unveiled their latest computer, and of course its a netbook.
The latest UMMD 8010/F netbook was unveiled during the recent IFA show in Berlin and although it has the good Commodore name, the specs may not be enough to justify the price tag. According to the announcement the UMMD 8010/F will be featuring a 10-inch display, a 1.6GHz C7-M processor, 1GB of RAM, and 80GB hard drive, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, built-in 1.3-megapixel webcam with an option for Bluetooth. Also, as what seems to have become the standard for netbooks, it will offer an option for either Windows XP or Linux.
However it all comes down to pricing, which as we mentioned may not be as low priced as needed coming in at £325 (about $610 US). While a specific launch date has not been announced, it is expected to be available later in September.
