Claim your content on YouTube

YouTubeThe new filtering system for YouTube is being called Claim Your Content and “will automatically identify copyright material so that it can be removed”.

“We are very close to turning this on,“ Schmidt said.

Of course this system should have already been up and in place already. With reports and speculation from both Viacom and NBC accusing Google of dragging it’s feet on preventing user’s from uploading clips from both TV and movie’s. With the delay’s in getting this system live and YouTube’s previous track record for handling copyright violations one can only wait and see and hope this will work.
