Chinese PMP looks somewhat like Sidekick

by Natesh Sood on Oct 12, 2007 at 05:58 AM

MP4-3010A

The new MP4-3010A, created by Foshan Joyoung Electronics, sports a similar design to the popular Sidekick phone. Along with the PMP capabilities, it also boasts a few other neat goodies. First off, it plays only AMV and MPX videos, but other formats can be converted into one of these. It can also show photos, all on its 2.4-inch TFT screen. For audio, it basically supports only 2 formats, MP3 or WMA. Now for the more interesting part, it has a built-in 2-megapixel camera, e-book reader, FM radio and can play some games. So far, the only available models are the 512MB, 1GB or 2GB, but can be expanded with TransFlash cards - up to 2GB.

No word on pricing or availability, but expect this device to be out in China first.
