CES 2009 Preview: MatrixStream announces new product for Internet streaming on your HDTV
Special Features
Palm Pre Information & Updates
Palm just introduced their next-gen smartphone, the Palm Pre, and next-gen operating system, Palm webOS. Gadgetell's got the latest Pre and webOS information and news for you right here.

The Internet contains many high quality videos that are available for free streaming. It’s annoying, at times, to watch your favorite TV show or movie on your small computer screen, and I’m sure you would much rather prefer watching it on your expensive HDTV. Well, now that is possible with the partnership between MatrixStream and MyTVPal.com.
Together, they launched the first HD cinematic Internet streaming service with 5.1 surround sound. Right now, common Internet video sites only use 2 channel stereo, while most of us with home theaters have surround sound, which is a lot better. Basically, MatrixStream made the MatrixCast, which is a streaming engine and you can choose videos and watch them in 1080p resolution and 5.1 surround sound on a PC or television.
Now, the interesting thing is you just need their MX 1 set top box to get high quality streaming straight on your HDTV. In case you are worried about your Internet not handling all the streaming, that could be a problem but if you download at at least 3Mbps, that will suffice.
If you want to see how all this works, MatrixStream is holding private demonstrations at CES.
