Among the many new, innovative products being announced at CES, IPEVO has added to the list with their new digital photo frame, the Kaleido R7 with EyeStage compatibility. In a nutshell, this new digital photo frame allows you to access pictures and other content from anywhere on the Internet, including mobile devices.
IPEVO had a main issue they wanted to address with this photo frame, they wanted to make it more like a computer in what it could do. Using the EyeStage technology, the digital photo frame is able to access Internet stored media such as pictures via WiFi. You are able to browse many photos from websites such as Flickr and Picasa, and then you are able to receive news and blog updates using RSS feeds. Also, you are still able to load pictures from memory cards.
Now, what makes this product even cooler is that you are able to access content from your iPhone or Windows Mobile smart phone. About the device itself now, it comes with a raised 7 inch LCD screen, the screen can rotate and tilt, comes with a remote control, and if you own an iPhone, that works as its own remote control. I guess IPEVO loves the iPhone a lot, because the R7 is very iPhone-friendly.
Royce Hong, CEO of IPEVO, had this to say about the Kaleido R7:
The R7 is set to be available in March selling for around $199. The EyeStage software will be available as a free download. Stay tuned for a hands-on with the device!
