Blue Ant VI: Hands free Bluetooth headset with voice commands

by Marjorie Dorfman on Jan 6, 2008 at 10:01 PM

BlueAnt

Voice control is no big deal when it comes to Bluetooth headsets as most of them are perfectly capable of that, but the hands-free Blue Ant VI takes it to a whole new level. The Blue Ant VI are not only incredible compact, they are also the very first headsets to be marketed as having a true voice-based user interface!

Your voice replaces a physical button when a call comes through, which means that while you are driving, your eyes will not be taken off the road. You simply speak into the microphone and say, “accept call.” There are other voice commands you can use as well. Some of these could include: volume up or reject call.

There is, alas, a downside to the Blue Ant VI headsets. Voice control is unstable and unreliable at times, and when that happens, forget about keeping your eyes on the road or being otherwise distracted. It can also be extremely frustrating should you not be concentrating and you accidentally execute a command that you don’t want it to do.
