BlackBerry with Wi-Fi approved by FCC

by Robert Nelson on Jul 9, 2007 at 03:30 PM

blackberry logoA Blackberry with GSM/EDGE 850/1900 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g has been approved by the FCC. According to the FCC filing the approved BlackBerry looks similar to the 8800 and 8830 models. Along with the Wi-Fi it will also have Bluetooth and a microSD slot. Aside from the 8800 and 8830 look this would seem to be the Blackberry Curve that is rumored to be coming to T-Mobile this September, of course we all know the Curve is the 8320. So now we have the FCC approval and earlier comments from RIM’s CEO Jim Balsillie stating that RIM would have a Wi-Fi enabled BlackBerry by years end. We know it will come, just a matter of which model it will be, I am hoping for the Curve.
