Rogers Communications, has recently announced the launch of the latest Blackberry to hit their network, the Pearl 8120. The phone will utilize Rogers’ UMA VOIP network. Rogers offers the handset for $149.99 CAN along with a three year agreement.
The Blackberry Pearl 8120 carries the full complement of the features of a Pearl 2 device, users can enjoy Wi-Fi, a SureType keyboard, a microSD card slot wisely placed on the phone’s left side, a bright, colorful and sharp display, a camera now capable of taking videos, and a video player which has no problem handling MPEG4, WMV and H.264 files.
An XScale 312MHz processor with 64MB of Flash memory powers the device. The phone packs a 900mAh Lithium Ion battery, which is capable of providing a 4-hour talk time, provided that Wi-Fi is turned off.
The Blackberry 8120 is a good-looking, small, responsive phone. While battery life could be better and the lack of 3G capabilities might seem like a step back when compared to other contemporary offerings, its excellent push email capability continues to be its major selling point.
