Blackberry 8800 with GPS and Google Maps
Making life a bit easier is the new Blackberry 8800 with Google Maps. Opening the application, a blue dot representing your location appears on the map and allows you to enter in where you want to go. Simply key in what you seek (ie fish tacos) and the results will be based on your GPS proximity.
Integrating your location is a cool feature with many possibilities we’d like to see on more phones.
Google Maps on a non-GPS enabled phone is a bit more frustrating (on Cingular or AT&T or whatever they decide to call themselves today). Every step requires you to ok the use of data for the phone, it gets a bit tedious.
For those still hooked on Blackberry like a fat kid on Lemonheads, this is a fantastic feature.
*Note: at this writing the Cingular store is temporarily down; I suspect they are re branding as I type this. The Cingular link should be active shortly.
