Best Buy, Blockbuster to sell movie downloads

by Colbert Low Boon Leng on Jun 5, 2007 at 02:03 PM

best buyBest Buy has always been a great place to get great bargains and deals on items that we need.  Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer told a several industry analysts that Best Buy and Blockbuster will be joining the movie download market, during a conference call this week.  It is not yet known whether Best Buy and Blockbuster will be working together, but if they do, it will be a attempt to sway the market away from Netflix.

Most probably the user will pay a sum of money to download movies from its site. This move is most probably influenced by Wal-Mart that has also started a similar service. Not wanting to be left out, Best Buy brokered a similar deal with Blockbuster. All in all, this is not something new as Apple, Movielink, and others have been selling movies through the internet for quite some time now.
