Palm Pre Information & Updates
Palm just introduced their next-gen smartphone, the Palm Pre, and next-gen operating system, Palm webOS. Gadgetell's got the latest Pre and webOS information and news for you right here.

In a move that is sure to anger many early-adopting Palm Pre users, Best Buy has (as of today) lowered the pricing on the Pre to just $99.99. Of course, that $99.99 price tag does require you to sign a two-year agreement, which limits the offer to new customers, as well as those who are eligible for an upgrade. Nonetheless, the Pre at $99.99 is certainly a nice price tag, and does wonders when compared to a G1 for $149.99, myTouch 3G for $199.99, the iPhone 3G for $99, or the iPhone 3GS for either $199 or $299. Additionally, if you were feeling a little richer than most, you could also grab a contract-free Pre for $749.99. Now, the big question is: Why did Best Buy lower the price by so much, so quick? Also, will this be enough to convince anyone who was holding out to make a trip to their local Best Buy?
[Update] Apparently, the price drop was an error by Best Buy. The price of the Palm Pre remains at $199.
