Asus denies 10-inch Eee PC

by Robert Nelson on Nov 16, 2007 at 08:22 PM

Asus Eee PC

Despite the confirmation from a recent press event and the sightings of the model 1001, Asus is denying that an Eee PC with a 10-inch display is in the works. Of course this does not mean that it will never be launched, just that “there are no plans for 10-inch at the moment.” Asus went on to say that “we will have 8G with the same form factor and 7-inch screen size as the Eee PC 4G now.”

It seems to be that Asus wants to keep the main focus on the 7-inch display model, which is understandable because given the choice of two similarly sized and similarly priced notebooks a lot of people would choose the one with a larger display, which could lead to poor sales for the current Eee PC.

The 8G Eee PC will be released with the same 7-inch display for an expected retail price of $499.99.
