Asus confirms Eee Keyboard will be coming in October, pricing still undetermined

by Robert Nelson on Sep 15, 2009 at 06:07 AM

We have seen plenty of rumors surrounding the release date of the Eee Keyboard, but now Asus has officially confirmed the availability.  Unfortunately a specific launch date was not yet given, which means we still have some waiting to do, however according to Asus the Eee Keyboard will be available in both the US and Europe beginning in October.

In addition to the release date, it was also confirmed that the Eee Keyboard will feature wireless HDMI, which means those who were worried about how easily this will connect to a television can rest a little easier.

Otherwise the Eee Keyboard is basically a netbook trapped in a keyboard.  The features include a 5-inch touchscreen display, a 1.6GHZ Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0 and either a 16 or 32GB SSD.  Of course I mentioned the wireless HDMI, however the keyboard will also include the more standard USB 2.0, HDMI, VGA as well as microphone in and headphone out ports.

Unfortunately, another important item is still not official—the price.  It has been rumored that it will fall somewhere in the $400 to $500 range, but we are still awaiting the official word from Asus.
