Asus launches the Windows Mobile 6.1 powered P565 smartphone

Asus has unveiled their latest smartphone, the P565, which is running Windows Mobile 6.1 and also includes a very powerful 800MHz Marvell Tavor processor.  The processor, at least according to Asus, is currently “the fastest in the world.“

The P565 is noted as being a business PDA phone and, in addition to Windows Mobile 6.1, will also feature Asus’ own Glide UI.  Other features of the P565 include a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth 2.0.  As for memory, the P565 has 256MB of RAM, 128MB of ROM and a microSD card slot for additional storage.  The P565 also has tri band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity as well as support for UMTS and HSDPA.

Additionally, the P565 features a 3-megapixel camera with autofocus on the rear with a second camera on the front for video calls.  The rear camera also allows for video recording, which comes at QVGA quality.

As of now, and also not unlike Asus, the pricing and availability date have not been released.
