CNet reports that Apple has confirmed the reports to charge for the 802.11n enabler software. The software, to be sold for $1.99 rather than the previously mentioned $5.00, will enable 802.11n wireless capabilities for Intel Core 2 Duo iMac’s (excluding 17-inch, 1.83GHz iMac), Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook’s, Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro’s, and Mac Pro’s with an Airport Extreme card installed.
The original price of $5.00 raised a few questions and some were quite stunned at such a price. But the new $1.99 price tag now seems rather nominal for the extra capabilities.
