The iPhone, one of the most hyped pieces of technology in the past few months may have gotten a little less hyped. It seems that Apple created it using hazardous material. Based on allegations by the Center for Environmental Health as well as the Greenpeace report.
Earlier this month in UK labs, Greenpeace found the iPhone containing PVCs and brominated flame retardants. Additionally, it found that 9 of the 18 internal and external parts contain this material, including the antenna. As of now, the terms of the suit aren’t specified.
Michael Green, executive director of Center for Environmental Health, had this to say regarding the iPhone problem:
Furthermore, most laws require products to specify any dangers of their products and the iPhone doesn’t give any warning. However, they did promise to improve the iPhone over time. It looks that Apple is going to have a hard time with this, though.
