Updated: Apple rumor roundup

by Adam Berger on Feb 28, 2006 at 01:07 AM

Apple logoSo with less than 24 hours before Apple’s big Town Hall press event we figured we would bring together all the current rumors in one place so you know what to expect what everyone on the outside is expecting.

Thinksecret is reporting that we will see an iPod “Hi-Fi” boombox debut at tomorrows event. Sources have indicated that the product will deliver unique capabilities beyond what today’s third-party docking speaker systems offer. We originally caught wind of this before MacWorld but have recently learned that Steve Jobs decided to pull some new products announcements at the last minute and save them for later.

AppleInsider claims that Apple will unveil a new line of low-cost Intel-based Mac mini desktop computers but will not debut its next-generation iBook consumer notebooks.

Ubergizmo believes that in addition to product announcements Apple will announce the release of full feature movies available for download on iTunes.

Updated: AppleInsider is supporting the full movie download claim with a story about Apple purchasing a data center that was originally built for MCI to house servers and storage. AppleInsider is also supporting a story we released earlier this month regarding a possible special edition red iPod to support AIDS awareness.

I am going to predict that we will see Intel based Mac minis, full-length movies, Apple branded iPod accessories, and one more thing…

Thanks Jeremy for the tip.
