Apple adds 99 cent special movie rental to iTunes Store

In the spirit of competition with downloadable movie rentals Apple has announced a special weekly movie rental that will be just 99 cents. The special movies will keep the same restrictions as regular movies to include having 30 days to watch them and 24 hours to complete the movie once it has been started. The weekly specials will be made available every Thursday and will remain at the 99 cent price until Monday, the current movie is The Hours.
These new movie specials come as part of the iTunes 7.6.1 update, which is said to also include some bug fixes in relation to the new Apple TV software.
