Palm Pre Information & Updates
Palm just introduced their next-gen smartphone, the Palm Pre, and next-gen operating system, Palm webOS. Gadgetell's got the latest Pre and webOS information and news for you right here.

More quick points for you guys:
- Size: The G1 is a decent sized phone. It is definitely larger than the iPhone but probably weighs about the same.
- Screen: The screen was responsive but does not do multi-touch. Google is pushing “long tap” for menus. Long tap works the same way as Windows Mobile. Just hold your finger on a spot and a new menu may pop up.
- The phone is righty-centric. If you are a lefty then you may hate this device.
- The G1 has a plastic-y body with an angled base. Looking at the device straight on, you may not notice the bend. The bend makes it feel like a real phone and not a glass and plastic slab.
- Hinge: It felt rather solid and had an interesting hinge. It does not just slide up, it slightly rotates. If the pictures came out okay, I’ll post some.
- USB port: on the bottom of the phone is a USB port meant for developers. When I asked Google if this port could be used for future hardware expansion, they said yes. It can absolutely be used for expansion in the future.
